Highwater Espresso Rubbed Steak

This rub is great on flat iron steak, strip steak or rib eyes!
Recipe type: entree
  • 3 tbsp. Aaron's High water Espresso Rub
  • 2 tsp. Pacific Blue kosher salt
  • 2 strip steaks, rib eyes or 1 flat iron steak
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  1. Sprinkle steaks with salt, then coat with spice rub, coating both sides
  2. Place steak on a wire rack set inside a sheet pan, chill in fridge for 4-6 hours
  3. Remove steaks from fridge about 1 hour before cooking
  4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  5. Heat oil in large skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium high heat
  6. Cook steaks in skillet 2-3 minutes on each side
  7. Place skillet in oven, cook steaks an additional 5-8 minutes
  8. Transfer steaks to cutting board, let rest 10 minutes before slicing
